Justice Social Work Statistics

Six line charts which show how various justice social work statistics were affected over the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. All of these fell sharply between 2019-20 and 2020-21, apart from diversion from prosecution cases which rose. Community payback orders and criminal justice social work reports have risen since 2020-21 but remain below their levels prior to the pandemic. Drug treatment and testing orders increased in 2021-22 but fell in 2022-23, mainly due to the DTTO service in Edinburgh being suspended for several months to new assessments/orders. Bail supervision cases and structured deferred sentences have risen sharply since 2020-21 to historically high levels. Diversion from prosecution cases rose again in 2021-22 before falling slightly in 2022-23. Last updated January 2024.
